Sorry it's been over a month since I got on here. Hopefully a big post (with linked pictures!!!) will be worth the wait.

Just wanted to say that I see now why the big guy painted the wall white!

He made the best hd theatre system ever. As far as I can see, anyway.

Everywhere in the house is colored paints... oranges, blues, even polka dots in the kitchen. But almost the whole living room is white and greys and black. Even the furniture. Hints of wood here and there. And one splash of an orange lamp made by Peri Lamps.

Perre turned on the projector last night and watched Annie Hall with friends. The whole room became a movie theatre and everyone got tipsy on mojitos. I like my human. I could've done worse.

He made this instruction sheet for how to choose theater seats, wireless dolby surround system, the drobo, 720p projector and macbook to control it all.

Could you ask your human which connection they used to connect their Mac Mini to the Optoma HD72? I have he same setup, but the Optoma doesn't see a signal from the mac via VGA. :(

Wow, That is so cool! My human doesn't like TV but she loves movies. She got inspired by your human and is thinking of doing outdoor cinema in her backyard, or so I overheard! That is where we live, in the back yard in Athens, Greece. We are all Greek but we're bilingual since our human is an expat from California. She is a vegetarian and gives us brown rice leftovers and then wonders why we don't eat it up. Mingo eats it though, he is our dog. I'm Margarita and I share the yard with Mingo and my arch enemy Bo. He's a cat with a bad attitude. I like Mingo better. Ta ta for now!

Hi Lucien, you need an adapter cable like the one at this link, but you need to search for the one specifically for the Mac Mini's "mini dvi port." Some models have different sizes. The one that the big guy is using is for attaching to a Macbook.

Apple Mini to DVI Adapter MB570Z/A

you know you can mount the projector on the ceiling when you goto the toilet you dont have to block the screen by walking in front of it plus drunk people/kids cant knock it onto the floor getting, nice job though now you just need to get a kick ass sound setup!
